I have an Illustrator file (I mostly work in PS6) of a poster that is 18" x 24". It has an image in one layer and all type in another. The type covers the poster completely. The image fills the whole size. It is Illustrator CS5.
Need to send it via email, but it is obviously too large - 54.3 MB. I tried outlining the fonts and flattening the image which is in CYMK and that seemed to make it larger. Tried PDF, but it only made it slightly smaller.
Also deselected the preserve - selected compression - unchecked create PDF compat & downsampling - in actions/deleted unused panel.
Tried to send the image separately, but it is too large.
Any suggestions as to what I missed or did wrong? Any ideas on how to significantly reduce the size of this file?

PS: I am aware of the cloud and up & download sites, but I would rather avoid that if there is a way to do it in Illustrator and it is for this one project.
