Purchasing CS6 Products

I'm currently a student studying graphic design. I have access to the CS6 software in class but have CS5 versions of Illustrator and Photoshop. This makes transfering files between home and school slightly awkward when taking things home and working on them at night.

I'm reading lots about this creative cloud thing that Adobe are now enforcing, but due to the fear of the unknown and also that it generally seems to received as bad news by most people, I'm not sure what I should be doing. I would like to get a S&T Adobe CS6 suite package, but will this be restricting in a little while due to how things will operate in the near future? School will probably have to concert to the CC system and then my standard CS6 version would once again not be ideally compatible. Should I be purchasing this, or not and just waiting until CC is the only option?

I'm not a computer expert by any stretch, so I'm trying to keep it simple so I can wrap my head around how everything works in this industry. Only an entry level student!
