Today I just installed Illustrator CS5 v15.1.0 on a new machine and began using it. I started a new doc and clicked on the Text tool, began typing and it was as if I was not pressing the keyboard on some letters (ie: "p" and "j"). I would see my string of text minus the "p" and "j" . No spaces in their place. I tested the keyboard in other programs and it is fine. The shortcut "p" key activates the pen tool and "j" activates the chart tool just fine.
Another odd thing; I click on the File menu and it does nothing. I click a second time and it drops down. All menus will drop on first click until i return to the doc and do a task. When I return to the menus I need to click twice to "activate" it, then the others work on first click - almost as it I'm activating a separate program.
Any ideas what could be going on?
