Maybe I don't understand how this concept works, but I'm finding that Illustrator's snap function does not, in fact, snap to a grid, or perform remotely as expected. I have my grid on the screen. I have snap to grid turned on. I then attempt to draw a box that is perfectly snapped to said grid in order to build a tiling backdrop. The result is a nice, square that is not snapped to the grid. It's a beautiful square, and one I am very proud of, but it is not snapped to the grid that I had hoped it would find an affection for.
I am now one hour in to trying to draw a tiling background that should have taken me two minutes. I have attached two images showing A) my grid and B) by box after being drawn, not snapped to the grid. It's a pretty drawing. I hope you enjoy it. I hope even more that someone can explain to me, why my grid is not snappable. Meanwhile, I'll find the tequila to help me cope.
Cheers,
