I recently bought Illustrator and I have been following tutorials on youtube to get my feet wet before I start using the program in class.
In a video, the guy makes a nice shadow for the "Light Balls" he is making by making a a circle, giving it a gradient where BOTH colors are the same red, but on the sliders, the right one is set to 0% opacity.
On his screen, it creates this nice red circle where the center fades nicely in to the back back ground. (as shown in the screen shot below)

But when I do (what I believe to be) the exact thing, I get this awful cloudy circle. (as seen below)
The red blurry circle thing looks fine with a white back ground, but it gets this nasty cloudy look when there is a black backgroud.
But it looks fine in the video...
I've worked on this small thing for way to long with no progess (esp on something so small). What do I do to get the same effect?
