I recently had a major issue with a design I recieved from a client.
I'm using Illustrator CS5 and when I ran an overprint preview of the artwork the colours changed drastically. I noticed that the colour they used was a Pantone 4975 C and when I ran a test print via my printer the colour they had chosen had changed just like the overprint preview did. I tried changing the colour to 4975 PC just to see what would happen and the colour changed to what was previously printed. So what I saw on screen was what was printed on the second test run.
The client changed the colour prior to the final print and the artwork came out fine.
I'm wondering why the colours changed so drastically? Google searches on Pantone C/PC/CV/etc have left me a tad confused and wanting, so any help would be appreciated.
