Win7 Enterprise 64 bit
Illustrator CC 17.0.1 64 bit
After placing an image into a new document within Illustrator.
I trace the image and expand it.
from there I attempt to Alt-click on the unite shape mode to create a compound shape.
No results...the compound shape is not created.
