Pixel shift visible in PDF after flattening

Hello,

I use an effect like Drop Shadow on regular vector artwork in Illustrator. There is a jpg image in the same artwork file as background. When I flatten the vector artwork with the drop shadow, I noticed that there is a shift by 1 or 2 pixels of the part of the jpg image lying underneath the flattened vector art (i.e. the box containing the artwork is flattened and presents a shift with respect to the remainder of the jpg image), either along X or Y or both axes in PDF.

I have tried the following:

- Flatten in Illustrator then print to PDF. Shift is not visible in Illustrator but appears in PDF.

- Flatten as part of the printing to PDF. Shift is visible in PDF.

Is there a way to correct this issue? (I must print to PDF without transparency).
