Hi guys
First, I am using the new CC version but this happened in CS6 as well. I am on a mac laptop OS X 10.8.4, retina display with SSD 8GB memory.
When I am working on some documents that have shadow or images in them, Illustrator seems to either crash (don't have the code, it hasn't done it in a while) or takes a really long time to even move or change something, and sometimes has the rainbow swirly things going for a while and then does not do the task in the end. Also it will say there is not enough memory and goes to the outline mode. I know I am working with a somewhat large (A1 size) artwork, but this did happen on a DL size document I was working on. I thought the point of illustrator was to be able to make large documents easily.
I have taken the laptop back to Apple, and they believe its a software problem not the actual computer memory. The 'genius' looked at the memory usage when illustrator was working and it didn't seem too over the top. They uninstalled and wiped all setting with illustrator and said it should fix it. As mentioned it hasn't crashed in a while (but has after taking to Apple).
Can anyone help with this? Is it because im using illustrator to put shadows on things. It always seems to happen when there's shadow involved.
I hope this makes sense, I find it hard to explain. Let me know if you need more information. I am new to a Mac so if theres some setting or something I should change let me know Image may be NSFW.
Clik here to view.
Thanks
Teagan
