Hi,
I resized my document from a 8.5 x 11 to a 11 x 14 and then scaled the business card on it up 280% to fit in the new document size in Adobe Illustrator CS2. Everything is working fine except that my existing crop marks for the business card stayed the same size as the business card 3.5 x 2 so how do I remove these? I don't need them anymore.
I will be having this printed so do I need to insert print marks or anything like that?

Hi,
I'm trying to prepare a file for print. I went to create outlines but doing Select All (Command A) and the Create Outlines (Command + Shift + O) and I'm getting an error message "Can't Create Type Outlines". Why is this happening and how can it be resolved?
It might be worth mentioning that I can create outlines when I select blocks of text individually but not when I select all.

When I place a picture to the file it doesn't just appear anywhere. I can only see some random frames with nothing inside them. It does not matter what format the pictures are, I've tried .png, .jpg and .psd files. I heard that it may have something to do with disabling FontExplorer Plugin but I don't know how. Someone said the file can be removed but I don't find it, it should be in Macintosh HD > Apps > Adobe Illustrator CS6 > Plug-ins but it isn't there.
I am trying to make a clipping mask, and then above what I clipped ad a name in a regular stock font.
I get the mask made
but then it will not allow a solid name to be added above it, it doesn't show up at all
I have recently reinstalled adobe illustrator because my hard drive failed and now I have lost the save for web option in the file menu, can anyone help?
I have been having issues with Adobe Illustrator running HORRIBLY slow. It runs fine for a couple of minutes, but after working in it for long periods of time Illustrator slows down and it also slows down the rest of my computer. I'm having to have to constantly restart Illustrator to to "refresh" the system.
Going into the task manager, I see this lovely thing popping up multiple instances (currently 12) that are running the background which is the "Adobe CEP HTML Engine".
I've been through the forums and heard this is causing others to have really slow computers as well.

My specs are not the problem as I have been running Illustrator for years on computers with weaker specs. Why is there 12 instances of the HTML Engine popping up? Illustrator has been slow for me for the last 2 releases and I was hoping that the newest release was going to fix this issue, however that is not the case. Is anyone else running into this issue? Is it being addressed? Is there a way to fix this?
If anyone has answers I'd really like to know. This is really slowing down my work because it takes so much time to do the simplest commands inside of Illustrator.
Below is a screenshot of my task manager showing that I'm not crazy. I don't even have a document open and it's popping up all these instances of this background task, not to mention multiple tasks of Adobe AeroCEF.
Hey guys, so I noticed recently near the cursor when using live paint bucket that there are 3 palettes.
(Sorry for the quality of the photo, didn't know how to screen shot with the cursor.)
So, the 3 palettes are according to the swatch group as you can see on the top right corner of the image.
I suspect there must be a shortcut to switch backwards and forward on the palette.
I can't find anything on Google, what do you guys think? Am I right or am I wrong?
What is the real purpose of those 3 palettes near the cursor?

Say I need a setting for exporting Jpgs at 60% quality from Illustrator using the new Export for Screens feature... How do I do that?
Should I fiddle in the program files and maybe I can find some settings file to edit? Or should i just stick with the old Save for web feature for the time being?

I know there must be a way to do it, but for the life of me I can't seem to figure out how to change the anti aliasing on export for screens. Right now the feature isn't usable for me as the exported images have terrible anti aliasing on links causing jagged edges that clients are complaining about (look like it is using type optimised aa even on linked images?). Normally art optimised anti aliasing will do the trick (in a perfect world the app should really figure this out and apply different aliasing to objects depending on wether they are text or links), but there isn't an option on this feature. All links are adobes own formats- psds and pdfs. Can't find it in settings either. Regardless, disappointed that this feature doesn't work out of the box, great feature otherwise and easy selection and scaling of images is brilliant.

I am using the same color settings in AI and CS (RGB: sRGB IEC61966.2.1, CMYK: US web coated v2). But when I save a swatches in PS (.ASE) and import it in AI, the rgb of the color in swatches changes. Am i missing something? How could I make the color consistent?
Please help.
AI 2015.3 just keeps crashing in Win 10. Will just go back to previous version which works fine, this would appear to have been released too soon.

I can't open an EPS file in my Adobe Illustrator CS6. Whenever the file is getting open in Illustrator (CS6), it displays an error pop-up "Can't open the illustration. The file was generated by a newer version of Illustrator and cannot be opened. Please resave it in a format compatible with your version of Illustrator".
Any suggestions on how can I convert or somehow open this in my Illustrator?
My workflow is to download Adobe Stock previews to my desktop (PC), place them in my Illustrator artwork file, sent the client a proof and saved the file and close it. I then moved the links into a subfolder to get them off my desktop.
On reopening the Illustrator file, I get a message 'Could not find the linked file ..., Replace Ignore Cancel'.
Before the Illustrator 2015.3 update I would click Replace and a Windows Explorer window would open so I could navigate to the new link storage file location, click OK and Illustrator would update the links.
Now, since 2015.3, clicking the Replace button does nothing, the error message disappears for a fraction of a second and then reappears.
I've tested and this behaviour only occurs with Adobe Stock downloaded AI files. Other file types such as JPG and AI files from other sources all work correctly.
I posted a report about this in the Illustrator forums and was told to discuss it here instead, please see this thread: Illustrator can't find moved links
Sure I could click Ignore for each placed image until the file loads and then manually relink all the files using the Links panel but that's a tedious job and a complete waste of time when the old behaviour should not have been broken. Plus, what happens if the links get broken again?
Just as the title says, the following happens, in this order:
1 - I launch AI CC 2015.3;
2 - It fully loads, even past the splash screen;
3 - However, after it loads, it stops in this screen, then suddenly the last program I used appears in front of Adobe Illustrator (Like this);
4- About 1-2 seconds after that, it abruptly crashes. There's no "Adobe Illustrator has stopped working" or "Error:" pop-up either, It just crashes and that's it.
I've tried the following as of yet:
- Restarting my computer;
- Reinstalling Adobe Illustrator;
- Deleting the SLStore and another folder, then reinstalling Adobe Illustrator and relaunching it;
- Checking my fonts;
- Launching Adobe Illustrator with my Graphics Card Driver turned off;
- Launching Adobe Illustrator with a different default Printer;
- Launching Adobe Illustrator with a 1366x768 resolution (explanation on the bottom).
However, there are 2 things I haven't done, 1 because I don't think it's the problem, and 1 because I can't get it to work:
1-Uninstalling Adobe Illustrator, then using the CC Cleaner. For some reason, Adobe Illustrator doesn't pop-up on my list after uninstalling it, so I can't use CC Cleaner.
2-Uninstalling my Wacom Drivers for my pen tablet. The reason for this is because there's absolutely no way that's the problem, since Adobe Illustrator worked just fine yesterday, and no updates happened to Adobe Illustrator or my Wacom Drivers.
The only thing that I have done after the last time I successfully launched Adobe Illustrator is use a new monitor with a bigger resolution.
Also, EVERY SINGLE OTHER PRODUCT I HAVE works. ONLY Adobe Illustrator doesn't work. Which makes me quite angry, since Adobe Illustrator is my MOST used product out of the Creative Cloud products.

I have a problem that consistently occurs in Illustrator CS4 on Leopard that only presents itself when I try to outline paths in dxf files opened in Illustrator that I think have been supplied from and Autocad type software.
I get the unknown Error: OSEG and only some paths outline.
The only way I have found to fix it is to outline paths individually till I find the culprit path or paths and and either find the point in the path that is causing the error and remove it (which can be time consuming), or just delete the path all together and re-create a replacement. It seems to me there is a problem with Illustrator being able to handle certain path information it encounters that is causing the error.
I have been doing the same thing in all versions of Illustrator since the very first version that supported opening dxf files (so quite a few generations of Illustrator, pre CS I think) and this is the first time Illustrator has presented the problem with these types of files specifically.
Any suggestions?
Researched this on the forum here and can't seem to find a recent answer to this. I would assume, as in other programs, you can use a key press to toggle snap when using the pen tool so that if you want to put a point in an exact place, it will work.

I'm using a rectangle as a top layer to mask an artwork underneath it. When I make the mask, the underlying artwork is trimmed to the boundaries of the rectangle and everything but the remaining parts (The ones that were supposed to be completely concealed by the rectangle) actually show on top of the rectangle !!!
It was working just fine until yesterday so I probably messed up a certain setting or preference or so.
Any help is appreciated.

After searching and not finding an answer I have the following issue:
I am not able to open an *ai file in Illustrator CS3. I created the file in Illustrator 15.3 (WIN) and I saved it as legacy CS3 to suit my clients needs. When I try to open the file on a 2014 Macbook Pro in Adobe CS3, I get the following message.
I can go back to Illustrator 15.3 (WIN/MAC) and open it fine, I just can't seem to open it in CS3 as needed by my client. I've tried saving as PDF, EPS, SVG, opening and exporting with Affinity Designer, restarting MAC/PC, resetting Illustrator Prefs (Crtl+Alt+Shift) on start up, nothing is allowing me to open the file without degrading the artwork in some way (exploding text fields, outlining text, flattening gradients etc).
My system specs are:

I cant seem to convert one of the cartoons (an .ai file) into a jpeg file.
I was using a free online converter but it wont convert one of the files I downloaded.
I dont have any other Adobe products and dont want to buy any.
Anyone got any ideas how I can convert it?
