When copying/pasting/placing a PMS image from one .ai document (cmyk color mode) into another .ai document (cmyk color mode) the color changes. The PMS # reads the same but the colors in the new document are completely washed out and if converted to cmyk the color values are completely different!?. For example, PMS 2965U (if converted from the originally document = C100 M38 Y0 K64) when pasted or placed into the new document still reads PMS 2965 but isn't and when converted to cmyk the values read C78 M62 Y43 K25.
This is a problem for both client reviewing proofs and sending to print if I am asked to change to cmyk.
