I have a MacBook Air 11-inch, mid 2013, Intel HD Graphics 5000 1024MB, OS-X 10.9.
I installed Adobe Illustrator CS5 (version 15.0.2) and when I tried to work I was dumbfounded that the cursor for some of the tools is much too faint to use! It's occurred to me to upgrade to AI CS6 but I would like to know that it will fix the problem before I spend the $250. The faint cursor problem occurs whether or not I'm using my Wacom Intuos 5 Pro with the latest driver v6.3.7-3. BTW, I can use AI CS5 on my MacBook Pro under OS-X 10.6.8 with no problem seeing the cursor for any of the tools.
Here's a list of the faint cursor/tools on the MacBook Air, all the others are fine:
List of tools with a very light grey cursor:
- Group Selection: “+” sign only (Arrow is okay)
- Lasso
- Pen: Add Anchor Pt “+” & Delete Anchor Pt “-” (Pen icon is okay)
- Type: all 6 variations
- Line Segment / Arc / Spiral / Rectangular Grid / Polor Grid
- Rectangle / Rounded Rectangle / Ellipse / Polygon / Star / Flare
- Scissors
- Rotate / Reflect
- Scale / Shear
- Measure
- Blend
- Graph: all 9 variations
- Print Tiling
Any help that anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated.
