I updated my CC version of Illustrator today and now when I go to edit type, the type block turns solid gray when the mouse hovers over type with selection tool, direct selection, and type tool. I can't seem to edit the type.
Can anyone tell me why this is happening?
- Is it a flaw in the upgrade (which, btw, the program now crashes when I open certain documents)? If a flaw, how do I fix it?
- Or is this a new feature that appeared in the upgrade with no instructions on how to use it? If a new feature, can you point me to a tutorial on how to use it?
This problem seems to occur only with documents I've created in the last week. New documents and documents created several months ago don't get the solid gray problem and I can edit the type normally.
I use CC on a PC running Win 7. Here is a screen shot of how my document looks with the grayed-out type.
Also, it now crashes when I open certain documents. (I know that's a separate issue.)
