I'm simply drawing characters for a video and Illustrator is so slow I can't even duplicate or move anything. Forget about zooming, copying or even applying a color. It takes few minutes for every action. Extremely annoying.

It only works nicely for a bit and then my laptop fans go full blast and can't do anything from then on.

It only started when I updated to the latest version 19.2.1. Is there any solution to this? When is Adobe going to patch this up?

 

I'm using a Mid 2015 MacBook Pro, 2.5 Ghz i7, 16GB RAM, AMD Radeon R9 M370X 2048MB

Hi

 

I have a user who has repeated issues with Illustrator CC 2015 crashing with what looks like memory issues.

 

They have had no problems when using CS6, but after the move to CC they had had real problems with it becoming very laggy and then crashing all the time. It is helped a little if the file is saved and then Illustrator closed and reopened, but often he does not even get the chance before it crashes.

 

I have tried an example file (it happens on all his files) which is quite large 35MB and has a couple of jpegs and a fair amount of patterns, but not too many spot colours in it, on both CC2015 and CS6. I thought it might be the file and the amount and type of content in it, but it works fine in CS6.

 

Using CC it does not take long for the file to be laggy and then grind to a halt it is especially noticeable when zooming in and out, where as on CS6 it is fine even though I have done a lot of actions and mucked about with it a lot.

 

He was using a Lenovo Win7 laptop with 8GB of RAM, we upgraded him to a higher spec laptop with 16GB of RAM, i7 processor, 512 GB SSD and NVIDIA N15P-Q3 Graphics card so I don't believe it is the machine. We also enabled Hyper Threading and increased the page file size.

 

Is there any settings within Illustrator we can change to make CC more stable and not so prone to the above issues, I have a link to dump file:

I am trying to re-install adobe illustrator cs6 on a new machine as the users old machine is being retired. When I enter the serial no i get the invalid message.

I work for the Ministry of Transportation, Ontario and we purchased volume licensing. To make things better, the original person this was deployed to doesn't work here anymore. I have the following if needed:

 

Order Number

End user Purchase Number

Reseller Purchase Order number

Agreement Number

I was recently donated a USCutter Vinyl cutter. Figure I want to learn how to use it. It seems like all posts about it go back many years. I am looking to see how I can go from Adobe CC, whether Illustrator, Indesign, Acrobat, or pretty much any of the programs to having it cut my vinyl art. Not sure if I need any plug-ins, but I figure this would be a good starting place, after searching the forums already.  Thanks

I use Illustrator CS6 on a PC and can't get past this.

 

All I can see is the outline preview. Does anyone know what causes this, and how I can get out of it?

Hello everyone!!! Hope everyone is staying dry and warm!!!

 

I have some artwork im doing for screen printing and a friend has been sending me some artwork to work on. The problem we are having is some of the artwork will open in Illustrator or CorelX4 and stay editable but then he will send me some that when I open in Illustrator it gives me this message and then will not be editable:

 

                       """This document has greater than 8-bit depth it will be imported as an 8-bit flat composite""""

 

Can anyone tell us why this is happening??? I have researched this with no answers so far??? He is using PSD2 and Im usin PSD4 and Illustrator4

 

 

Please help!!!!! Running out of time for this artwork to be completed.

Hello,

I recently got a new Mac desktop computer and downloaded all the latest adobe products that I use onto it, but now illustrator has started a habit of glitching out on me. its freezes every once in a while but what really has gotten me frustrated is that my mouse disappears no matter what tool I am using and I only reappears if I shake it around a lot. My school computer is an older version of mac but it has the same version of illustrator on it and it hasn't caused me any problems before. I tend to use photoshop more than illustrator so I don't know fi there is an easy fix to this but I can't seem to find any answers. I know I have the latest update downloaded.

 

If anyone is able to help I would be very thankful as I have a tattoo I need to design.

I am trying to use Nepali fonts in Illustrator CS6 but it does`t support.

How can I write Nepali fonts in Illustrator?

Can I also use Nepali Unicode (Romanized) fonts in Illustrator as well?

 

My OS is Windows 10 English version.

No matter what I copied (actually - tried tocopy) orpasted - the software crashed.

 

Can anyone verify this is happening on other systems ?

 

my system is:

Windows 7 Pro 64bit

24 gigs RAM

 

(I had to revert to the previous version)

I'm getting some weird artifacts around an Illustrator image that is part of a larger image

 

If I place the file in a layer, then attempt to save it as anything from another Illustrator file to a PDF or even a JPG image there are spikes and fuzzies around part of the image.  It seems to be a rendering issue, but everything I have tried so far is not helping except to save the image and then manually edit out the artifacts using Photoshop.

 

It wasn't happening all the time until tonight. In the past I was able to delete the layer, copy and place the original Illustrator file of the tiger again and save it and get a clean rendering until I saved the AI file. Once I did that, I would have to delete the layer again, replace it and save the file.

 

Tonight? The gremlins decided to mess up TC's hat each and every time I tried to render or save the file in any format...

 

Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

Since the latest upgrade to Illustrator CC 2015, I'm now getting continuous RAM errors, even on documents that are all vector based. I've turned off GPU performance since I thought that was the culprit, but it's still happening.

 

My iMac is only 2 years old with 2GB video RAM and 32GB system RAM. How is this happening?

 

OS X 10.11.2

Illustrator 19.2.0

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 2048 MB

I have been designing the interface of an app for a friend on photoshop. I have all of my layers organized and ready to go for the app developer, but I need to convert the PSD files into AI in order for her to work on them. Every time I try to File>Open one of the files in AI I get a prompt that says:::

 

                       "This document has greater than 8-bit depth it will be imported as an 8-bit flat composite"

 

It then opens my file with all of the layers merged together as one flat image, leaving no room to edit anything! Is there any way to fix this at all? Is there any way I can open a PSD file into Adobe with all my layers still in tact? Can I increase the amount of bit depth in which Illustrator opens files? If I decrease my photoshop bit-depth will all of the layers open on AI?

this is not the first time im having this issue, after research on google.. the solution i found is need to update the graphic driver, which i already did. but occasionally still having the same problem

 

 

 

after the screen went black and recover, the illustrator remain the same and doesnt recovered. i cant even save the file and need to force exit and reopen the illustrator. sometimes the [Recovered] version of file doesnt appear and all the work i have done is lost

 

 

 

someone please tell me what should i do to prevent the graphic card error message? i already update the graphic card driver and the problem doesnt go away

I get this error message every once and a while when it changes to outlines and I try to switch back to preview mode. I just added 16gb to my hard drive this month so there should be any issue of memory space on my computer. Help Please!

Hello,

     I am basically into packaging and I use different printers from time to time depending on the requirement , some for  the first time. My design files consists of a lot of illustrations and high resolution images. I normally send the illustrator file with all the elements in it. Is there any other format I should use instead to prevent the misuse of the design or to be atleast on a safer side and at the same time be prepress compatible. Can anyone suggest me a way to deal with that.

I wonder who, in history determined that complimentary colors work together in art. Sure, science is to be credited for the discovery the principle of light and color, as well as their attributes through the prism of our atmosphere when it comes to colors on the color wheel. But who determined that the opposite colors make a "complimentary color" and that they work together in design?  In addition, do different cultures agree that these opposite colors (complimentary colors) work together? Or is different for each culture?

 

These are the thoughts that a designer thinks about when during the day when passing advertisements and observing the colors that go into them.
